Do I Have to Practice Now?

Anyone who has ever had to spend time around musical instruments has either heard those words, or maybe even said those words themselves. And, like the cat, most of us would rather be outside playing.

This is a reproduction of an original piece of fiber art titled "Do I Have to Practice Now?" by artist Loretta Alvarado. The piece features a black cat who is sitting on a piano bench staring out the window at the birds in the trees. This feline would much rather be outside chasing the birds, instead of being stuck indoors sitting in front of the grand piano practicing.

The piece is framed in a black matte board. The size is a standard 8x10 so it can easily be put into a ready-made picture frame. The mat board is acid free. The piece is mounted to a backer board made of chip board which is NOT acid free. It comes packaged in a clear protective sleeve.

The image is signed by the artist (that's me!) and the back is also signed and has the title of the piece.

Wouldn't this make a great gift for a cat person? Or a piano teacher? Or the pianist who loves cats?

This listing is for one matted print (reproduction) of this artwork. If you have any questions, please email me at
